1496686527 BELA BARTOK’S ASSESTMENTS ABOUT TURKISH AND HUNGARIAN FOLK MUSIC

Bela Bartok, who a composer and etnomusicologist renowed, was invited by Prof. Dr. Laszlo Rasonyı to Turkey in the 1936, to give conferance and examination on folk music. In the year 1936, Bartok was invited by Ankara Public as the guest of the house. Bartok found important findings and many similarities between Turkish and Hungarian folk musics. In this study is included his assestments about between 1935-1936 in Turkey. In this searhes, A. Adnan Saygun, Ulvi Cemal Erkin, Necil Kazım Akses and their a group accompanied to Bartok. Research and detailed findings show that there is and interaction between Turkish and Hungarian folk music. Despite some differences, there are similarities between Turkish and Hungrian folk music poems and rhythms. This situation has strengthened the fact that Humgrian music is an ancient Turkish herigate.It is aimed to examine the similarities and differences between Turkish and Hungrian folk music in the light of compilation works of Bela Bartok in the article.
