In this process, different ways of getting information are preferred. One of these is visual documentation. When we take art products as a visual document lightning cultural life of the period, it is also possible to see ethnographic identity which focuses on individual, group and society structure by the way of observations which are in close relationship with the daily life of the artist. “Being there” as a basic principle of ethnography figure is also important in the frame of looking inside from inside rather than looking from outside which has been loaded on the artist. As a result, it has been seen that different disciplines have been used by artists purposely or without any purpose by knowing different methodologies of different disciplines in arts researches and productions. The artist who tries to understand his period, looking for answers for the problems has been in struggle for looking around himself more closely. Ethnography is only one of these ways.
