1592201227 PORCELAIN DOLLS IN FAR EAST CULTURE

Dolls have been in the Far East for a long time with various contexts, as in the rest of the world. In general, as with all toys, materials specific to the Far East have been diversified depending on the period and geography. And the meanings attributed to dolls changed. Dolls sometimes appear as miniature figures, trinkets, sometimes toys, and sometimes porcelain-dolls. Porcelain is one of the first things that come to mind when it comes to the Far East. It is in the general name of white, translucent, waterproof, semi-glassy ceramics, which is obtained by mixing kaolin, quartz, and feldspar in certain proportions and firing at temperatures between 1300-1400 °C. In this study, the history of dolls in the Far East countries has briefly mentioned. Research has done about the emergence and general characteristics of porcelain dolls in these countries.
